At Montessori Childcare Broome, Mount Hawthorn & Mount Claremont we aim to support you and your child to feel like part of the family, and put to rest any of those uncertainties which can come from not knowing what to expect. Rest assure we do understand what you are going through and we are here to put your mind at ease.  Some children take to new environments and social situation with ease, while other may take some time for to settle in and be comfortable in the environments and develop those relationship with their new friends and educators. There are a few things which can support your child to settle and make your time as stress free as possible.

  • Open communication– ask questions and seek understanding, our educators are only too happy to help. We understand that this may be a new experience and we are only too happy to give you all the knowledge and time to help you understand why we love working in the Early Childhood Industry.
  • Orientations Days—we encourage that you and your child visit the Centre as many times as possible prior to starting care, chat with our educators and share in our learning.
  • Trial Days –we offer two FREE trial days for your child prior to starting care, use these as an opportunity to begin the separation and allow your child to build secure relationships with their educators.

These process help aid the transition from home to school with as much ease as possible , with the aim of keeping continuity between the Centre and home for a long lasting working relationship.

We want your child to feel as though they belong, and as such if they have a special comforters or possession, we encourage that they bring this to share with us at Montessori Childcare.


Enrolments are provided and accepted by the Centre Manager, only once all the information has been provided that is required. Which includes:

  • The enrolment form,
  • Birth Certificate,
  • Immunization record or consciousness objection &
  • Payment Authority “Ezidebit Form”

Each day all children must be signed in using Kiosk, our online attendance record upon arrival and departure from the Centre. It involves using personal information and a 4 digit password to acknowledge the child has been dropped off or collected by an authorized person. An educator will show you how to do this. The safety of your child is of utmost importance to us.      Consequently we will not permit your child to be taken from our care by anyone without your written permission.

We ask that you telephone the Centre if your child is unable to attend on any given day by 9.00am . Please advise us of any upcoming holidays so we can support your family with the change to your routine.

Each day bring along your school bag with:

  • A change of clothes and underclothes. For children requiring support and assistance with toileting, we encourage families to bring nappies (disposable or other) and extra changes of clothes.
  • In summer, bring bathers (for water play), and a  hat. In winter, bring a warm jacket, raincoat and a change of footwear and socks.
  • A piece of fruit to share for morning tea
  • A water bottle

Our Day 

A typical day at Montessori Childcare

  •  7am –9am Children arrive, meet in the Pre-Montessori room
  • 9.00am–  Ourdoor time (weather permitted)
  • 9.30 – Circle meeting time- educators sit with friends to discuss our day, introduce any new materials, share news.
  • 9.45 – Morning Tea offered we aimed to have this as a progression meal time, so that each child can choose when to eat within a certain time frame.
  • 9.30am –12:30noon Montessori Materials for 3-6yrs / Project work and explorations for Pre-Montessori
  • 11.30 Lunch for Pre-Mont
  • 12.30am Lunch for Children’s House
  • 1.00pm Rest and Relaxation
  • 3.30pm Afternoon Tea
  • 4.00pm – 6- free flow between indoor and outdoor/ emphasis on projects.
  • 6.00 Centre Closes

Our Menu 

We have qualified food coordinators who prepare the children’s meals daily, fresh onsite. Our menus are not only delicious and nutritious but are also based on additive and preservative aware ingredients. Our “Additive Smart” menus are endorsed by Julie Eady, author of the book “Additive Alert”. We supply morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.  Details of meals are displayed on the entry notice board.
